My New Goal!

 Hello, so today i'm going to show you one of the skills I learned to day in L3 Math. At first I found it so diercilt, and did not understand at all, but Koka Charlotte expanded it to me again, so that was very helpful. The goal I was doing is called, solve an algebraic question like: If $ # @ ^ $# @ what is 39th? Here's a question that I will show to you, so that I can say that I know how to solve a question like that.

L3 Math

Kia ora, this week my math group and I have been learning a new goal. Our goal is called, Solve a fraction of a whole number question, like 5/8th of 24. At first I found it extraordinary hard, but wanted to figure it out. Our teacher likes to hear how WE figured it out, and if we disagree or agree. She also likes to hear why and how we solved a question. One of my classmates used division, and I used timetables. Any way I thought I might make a video on how I would solve a question.

So my question is 4/8 of 50.

When I looked at the number, I immediately new that 1/2 of 8 is 4 . 

So that means that 1/2 of 50 is 25.

Which means that 4/8ths of 50 is 50 

Please tell me how you would have done it and if I got it correct or wrong.

Math Strand

Kia ora whanau. So yesterday, Koka Ngaire asked us to fill in this sheet about Volume, Capacity, Length, Weight,and Predictions. We needed to fill this out for our report, so then Koka Ngaire could judge our answers - if we were good enough. I enjoyed doing this because this gave me a chance to relearned what we had done that term. I have attached a photo of what I did, so you can see what I did. Hope you enjoy!

Maths

 Hello, this week i'm writing about math and how I had a wow moment in my math workshop. Yesterday I helped my teacher. I helped Alice, Rio and Charlotte A. In my group we've been focusing in on algorithms. I think that we're all sussed with our addition algorithms but I think that i'm good at subtraction algorithms too.  Koka Terri said that its way easier to use algorithms to figure out a question and I think that it is too.

I found myself in the learning pit when my group started figuring out questions with zeros. So I asked koka Terri how to figure out the question and after she explained it to me that was when I had my wow moment. I felt like it all made sense now but it took time and when I got a piece of paper with some questions. When I checked my questions with addition (which koka Terri taught me how to do) I GOT THEM ALL CORRECT!!!!!!  

So now i'll talk about how she taught me to check my work. I thought that it was going to be very complicated but it actually isn't. All you have to do is you see if you answer whatever you are taking away or adding together and if they equal the same as the top column. Leighton house

Hi me and my class went to Leighton house for two hours because we had a student volunteer army project. I was so frustrated by the length of time it took to organise this trip because we all had a job to do. My job was the caterer. So I made burgers for my class.  

We brought games to go and play with old people. We also brought our ukuleles to play some songs to the old people. It was fascinating to learn about there life and about their stories from the past.  Somebody was 99 years old. And there was some one called Noel, he turned 90 the day before we came.

As I have all ready said I was the caterer. We had to do it the next day because we needed to finish Athletics. I was in a dream by the taste of the burgers. IT WAS AMAZING.

My Hauora cube

       My Hauora cube 

Hi I am Te Atawhai. I am in room 4.  Recently I have been learning how to make a 3D cube . 

I made my cube 9cm wide and the same in length. It was hard to do all of the measurements.

  I new I was successful because it looks like a 3D cube.  I enjoyed it though a lot.

Tunnel Data

We all took a tunnel home to see if we had pests in our back yards.
The Rats are the most common pest in my bar graph.

But the people who did not get any pests are the most popular.

The nothing bar has 0 pests and 10 people got nothing .

The Mouse is the 2 common pest.

Cats are more popular than hedgehogs by one.

We did this to find out how many people have different tips of pests. Then we past the information to namanwiata to help with pest control.
