penguin boxes for little blue penguins
Check out our Gisborne Herald article about our penguin boxes here
Our Inquiry Topic is Actions speak louder than words
This term we made penguin boxes. The population are going down fast.
We did this because the penguins need to breed. It is also a house for them.
We placed our Penguin boxes by the Hamanatua Stream. We also placed our Penguin boxes by wainui beach school.
To monitor our penguin boxes we have a map.You can access the map on my blog post underneath.
Nga Manu Waiata will further support us by putting traps by our boxes. For free!

Stingray Feeding
Dive Tatapouri Stingray Feeding
We arrived at tatapouri which is where my class went to. Me and my friends met up. A lady told us she would take 5 kids at a time. Some of us were in our sots. I sore the beach. All of us went down to the beach.
I went into the water. I was a little bite scared. But I was very excited. We got to the poet we did not go any further. A little stingray came. There was 2 more. Some Kingfish came close. I was very scared because Alex said they can bit off fingers. The stingrays where very slime but soft.
At last Alex wanted to show us a tric. He put some dead fish into his mouth and fed it to the kingfish. We did that but with our hands.

Tunnel Data
We all took a tunnel home to see if we had pests in our back yards.
The Rats are the most common pest in my bar graph.
The Rats are the most common pest in my bar graph.
But the people who did not get any pests are the most popular.
The nothing bar has 0 pests and 10 people got nothing .
The Mouse is the 2 common pest.
Cats are more popular than hedgehogs by one.

We did this to find out how many people have different tips of pests. Then we past the information to namanwiata to help with pest control.
